Language Arts Program

Research has proven that fluency in letter recognition will help children as they begin to read and write. Children need to be exposed to group and individual activities with letters and sounds to promote letter recognition. We have enhanced our curriculum with the Computer/Language Arts Classroom to provide some additional tools for the children to learn the skills needed for fluency in letter recognition. In addition, we have added a Literacy Link to our weekly curriculum. Each classroom will read a designated book and will complete activities revolving around the link. Each classroom will have a scheduled time in our Computer/Language Art Classroom to work on computer programs, read stories, use the listening center and use the additional language art activities. The following books will be used this year to enhance our program.
